Resource Development

Habitat for Humanity of Georgia contributes to the financial viability of the local affiliates of Habitat in the state who do home building on a day in, day out basis. We are an independent, 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and all donations to us may be deducted on your federal income tax return.

We mobilize resources for affiliates from sources currently unavailable to those affiliates and distribute occasional grants to local affiliates throughout the state. These have come from different sources, such as HFHI programs and individual donors who wanted to direct support within the state of Georgia.

We also facilitate distributions and exchanges of merchandise to/from affiliate owned home improvement stores (ReStores). This occurs when a large amount of donated items become available from home improvement chains and the quantity is more than any one affiliate can absorb. HFH of GA receives these products and makes them available to affiliates that can put the items to use. Through this effort, thousands of dollars of house wrap, insulation, and other home building products have been granted free of charge to over 10 affiliates for their home building efforts over the last 5 years. Additionally, a statewide partnership has been established between HFH of GA and RE/MAX of Georgia to carry out an annual golf tournament with the goal of raising funds to help Habitat homeowners and affiliates throughout the state of Georgia. A variety of participation options are available, including a breakfast gala that kicks off the day and hole sponsorships. Our work to support affiliates throughout Georgia is ongoing. We ask for your prayers and gifts so that, through our combined strength, we can expand God’s work in your community and in Georgia.
